"A best friend is a sister that destiny forgot to give you." By ??
This week has been a treat for me because I have had a visit from a friend I have known since I was ten when we were at school together. She has flown over from the UK and we have been nattering and giggling all week! It is good for the soul and she has lifted my spirits. Her trip here to see me has also given her the opportunity to stay with other dear friends who just by happenstance live within walking distance of the Lodge. So I too have made new friends in the neighbourhood! It's odd how she remembers things about our childhood that I don't and vice versa. We have been talking up a storm ......though in fact we caused it to snow instead and the buds and early blooms in Victoria had a brief coating of white but Nanaimo has had proper snow....again! It's hard when you have only a short time together and this is when I wish that the west coast wasn't so far away from everything else.
I have been joking about the Lodge and its feeling of an oldie's home but as I was walking back from the clinic one day this week I realised that it is a very good place to be. With everyone there going through the same thing, the questions and chat, friendship and support around the meal table are, in fact, just what are needed. As always; friendship and good times together are helping me stay on-course.
This photo was taken as we moozied around Sydney, a small seaside town near Victoria this week on a cold cold morning after the snow. I am disguised as a big snowflake! Thank you to Alison for coming all this way to cheer me up.
Hi Liz- Alison looks just as I remember her - hope you had a great time together - I'm sure u did! Love, Biddyxx

Great to see you are back in blogging mode. I went to the new IKEA in Southampton yesterday and remembered the last time I went-a bit different though. Same contents but thousands more people! Was half looking for red stuff!
Have purchased a book called "Microsoft Vista for Seniors" today! jx
